Here is the barest beginning
of an angel started last year. It was four feet by six feet.
Here, it has been primed with rabbit skin glue, and a drawing is underway,
referring to photos of cute catalog girls, Donatello's David,
the Mourning Athena from the Athens Acropolis, the Athena from the Aphaian
Temple in Aegina, and the Athena Parthenos (though that one's a bit ornate
for my purpose).
Unfortunately, Mazinga, the little cat you've seen elsewhere,
had a temper tantrum one day when scolded for scratching at the back of the
canvas. He tipped it over onto a chair and ruined it beyond repair.
More work will appear shortly, painted in oil and
Baltic amber with fine handmade cat-fur brushes.
